Snoop Dogg has been on a long journey and has generally shone brightly. His new album, Bush, represents his drive towards cementing a modern classic.
Opening with the slick ‘California Roll’, featuring Stevie Wonder, Snoop sets the bar for a relaxed, smoked out session. Partnering with Pharrell, as he does throughout the album, is a safe move given their prior successes together, but it is also well played and the tight retro sounds shape a solid, rewarding listening experience.
